Art – Self expression comes in many forms.
The Art Program is designed to branch out from the traditional preschool “crafts” and provide the children an opportunity to freely express themselves using different media. All age groups take part in weekly art classes, taught by Ms. Megan, which focus on artistic concepts and artists through history. The children at all age levels are exposed to the seven elements of design (line, shape, color, value, texture, perspective, and form). Art is also taught by the homeroom teacher so the curriculum can be tied into specific classroom themes where appropriate to enhance their understanding.
Each spring the entire school participates in an Art Show. Families are invited to a reception in Memorial Hall, where they see the artwork their children have made all year for the show.
